An exploration of geology as both physical landscape and emotional metaphor.  I transformed food into surreal edible rocks and geological forms, playing with the strange pleasure of eating something that appears barren and inedible.

 

The work invited guests to consider their own hidden layers and depths through prompts such as “What are your hidden strata?” and “What flavour is granite?”. Beneath the playful surface, the work reflected on food scarcity, barren landscapes and the vulnerability of our food systems in a changing climate.
